SUNDAY 18TH JULY - 2021, Hilton Ageas Bowl, Southampton

Due to the recent government update, we are looking at potential option for our competition as it falls just one day before the expected reopening and relaxing of current restrictions.

The hotel have given us the option of cancelling or postponing - ideally we don't want to do either!
They don't have any protocol in place for a dance competition to run whilst restrictions are in place, so they are going back to their head office to see what is possible. One thing is for sure, we will have a limit on the number allowed inside the ballroom, plus masks and social distancing. We don't want this option.

They have offered us Saturday 24th July, the following weekend, however this is when the UK Closed is scheduled to run should the DPA find a suitable alternative to the BIC. We don't want to hold our event on the same day as the UK Closed, however if they are unable to hold their event, this could be a very viable option for us. BUT, that is presuming all our judges and officials etc PLUS entered dancers can make the date.

Finally, we could wait until the government MAYBE make a decision on bringing the relaxation of restrictions forward (don't hold your breath) which would mean from the 5th July things can go ahead. This is our most preferred option, and might be what we end up hoping for in the short term, if the 24th July isn't a possibility. But, we certainly not holding our breath!

As always, keep checking our social media and drop us an email, call or text if you need any more information!
