We are James & Kelly Prouton and along with our team of teachers we run Dizzyfeet Dancing from our newly opened HQ in Southampton. Since 2007 we have been providing a fun and entertaining dance experience for all levels of social and competition dancers at a variety of locations along the south coast.
Whether you're learning to dance for the first time or want to take to the competition floor we can help! Not only that, but we can brush up on your social dancing skills, enter you for examinations and also get you ready for a wedding dance. We are open to all, and firmly believe that to learn you must have fun in the process so we ensure you always leave with a smile!
About 6 times a year we run social dance evenings to give you a chance to practice what you have learnt in a real life dancing environment. Not only do we put these events on for Dizzyfeet Dancers, but it's also gives an opportunity for other local dancers and groups to come along and join in the fun. Our social dances normally involve nibbles, drinks, party games and a dance demonstration! Examples of these can be seen on our YouTube channel, DizzyfeetTV.
We regularly take time away from our own studio to assist in other local projects such as Portsmouth Grammar Schools 'Strictly School Dancing' and local productions of 'Guys and Dolls' and 'My Fair Lady'. Not only that, but we are also involved with local charity events for 'Kids', the British Heart Foundation and the Wessex Cancer Trust.
In April 2012, we decided to hang up our dancing shoes and retired from competitive dancing. Our many years competing at the highest level has taken us all over the world, with many wonderful experiences and a few successes! All of this, we hope, gives us the confidence and expertise to help anyone that decides to learn with us at Dizzyfeet Dancing.
On September the 2nd 2012, we opened our very own dance studio in Southampton. From here we hope to grow our dance empire and bring even more dancing happiness to the surrounding areas and beyond!
